Restoring a Voice in City Hall for Northeast Long Beach Residents

My name is Rich Dines, a lifelong greater Long Beach resident, and I am running for City Council because we need change at City Hall and the 5th District needs an independent voice that will represent our neighborhoods.

We deserve to have an open and transparent government.  We should know who our leaders are meeting with and who is influencing their decisions that impact our lives.  We deserve leaders who have conviction and don't “flip flop” on issues so they can vote in a majority. Your elected leader should be accessible and responsive to the community - a pledge I emphatically make.

I am a former Harbor Commissioner at the Port of Long Beach with a proven record of Fiscal Responsibility, Creating Good Jobs and Transparency.  We can grow our general fund, fix our streets, hire more cops and firefighters and be honest, open and transparent to our residents. With your support on June 5th, we will bring solutions to our city.

Help create new jobs to place us on the path towards a healthy and thriving economy.

fiscal responsibility

Implement new programs and policies to save the city hundreds of millions of dollars and balance our budget.

Work hard with colleagues and staff to improve efficiencies and increase transparency.
